Storytime 27 April 2025: The Neverending Story, Part 9
Continuing with Michael Ende’s The Neverending Story, English translation by Ralph Mannheim. If you’ve missed one of the last two installments, I have unlisted recordings of them; just ask me for the link(s). Bastian has entered Fantastica and met the Childlike Empress, but upon making his first wish he was all alone. Then, though, he met a friend who had always been alone; he was given a magic sword and a primer on how Fantastica works for humans. He has to move from one wish to another, but we’re seeing that whenever he makes a wish he loses a little bit of his memory, though of course he doesn’t realize that.
“Late” storytime will either repeat that or read something else! I’ve been reading some of the poems from A. A. Milne’s Now We Are Six. But there’s more to read!
