Sleep Test

Hi, I just got back from the hospital. No, I wasn't in the ER; I was in the sleep lab. You see, I fall asleep really easily during the day, no matter how much sleep I get at night, so they did a test. It's looking like I might very well have a case of narcolepsy. But at least it's controllable. Medications like Provigil exist that stimulate wakefulness without stimulating the rest of the body and causing edginess and nervousness. There's no generic Provigil sold in the US, because it's one of those drugs whose maker is suing to keep the right to keep selling it at high prices. The same drug is sold in Canada at a lower price as Alertec, however. Anyway, now I have to go through the process of my doctor's adjusting my prescription of this stuff so we can see how much I need to stay alert during the day while still being able to sleep at night.

And no, I didn't wear my diapers or training panties while I was there. This test is to help me with my drowsiness problem, and the fewer variables the better. I suppose if I wore diapers every night and had worn them every night for the last few years, I should have worn them to the test so there'd be one less variable, but that isn't the case. What's more, since diapers are part of my sexuality and not medically necessary, it would be the equivalent of hitting on the nurses -- involving them in my sexual life while they're at work. There was a plastic cover on the mattress, though, and it felt and sounded nice, so that was some consolation. I remember having just such a cover on my bed when I was little, and I had one after I graduated but before I got married too.
